What we are doing on Wednesday's Council meeting...
We are holding the Police and Crime Commissioner to account on speeding and tackle off-road bikers, we have been told that none of the speed cameras in the city work and we want to know why.
We are asking serious questions about the plan the Council has for the City Centre, because we can’t afford to lose anymore of what brings people into our town.
Free parking? Gone
Cinema? Gone
Wilko? Gone
Crowtree? Long gone
Any hope for the future? Soon to be gone
We are also asking about Grace House, a campaign started in the summer because the Council decided to axe the short term respite care service that so many families rely on being held at Grace House. No realistic alternative for these vulnerable families, poor communication if any with them and a summer of anxiety and fear.
There are also questions in about the state of trees In Washington and how the Labour leader of the Council who is a councillor in Washington must have no pride in our town since he doesn’t seem to care, why the school street scheme review is taking so long and why the Council is so slow with it and finally how we can get more traffic
