Barnes Ward Councillors over the recent months, have been writing to residents about the proposed KFC development and speaking to people about their concerns surrounding this.
This week the team has delivered letters to inform residents that Sunderland City Council will decide whether to grant planning permission on Monday 19th September 2022 at a meeting of Planning and Highways, taking place at 5.30pm in City Hall.
Councillor Helen Greener said
" We will be making strong representations against the development going ahead aswe have consulted residents extensively about this and we are fully on the side of the many hundreds of local people who have spoken out against this incredibly poor proposal.
"We've made it really clear the reasons this should not go ahead due to the detrimental impact upon the road network, how it breaches Council policy VC4 on hot food takeaways being near primary schools and that theon-site parking proposed as part of the development is insufficient for what the applicant says will principally be a dine in restaurant.We hope residents join us at the meeting to make these arguments in front of the Committee".
