Conservative candidate for St. Anne’s ward Gregory Peacock has written to the council requesting that more dog waste bins are installed around the ward.
As a result, the council have assured Gregory that an inspector would come out to carry out a survey to see if a bin was justified at Havelock Park.
Gregory said:
There is a clear need for more dog waste bins. In particular, in the green areas within housing estates where local dog walkers frequently walk their dogs. I often come across dog bags which have been used but are dropped or discarded on the paths. This suggests that walkers would use the bins if they were there, as they are clearly picking up the mess initially.
